Festive Sale Preparation Checklist for E-commerce Brands
A week-by-week plan for preparing stock, listings, deals, ads and customer service before Diwali and big marketplace sales.
Festive season sales such as Flipkart's Big Billion Days and Amazon's Great Indian Festival can deliver a large share of annual revenue. Preparation decides who benefits.
Eight weeks out: stock and pricing
Use last year's sales data and current trends to forecast demand for key products. Secure inventory, negotiate supplier timelines and decide pricing and margin guardrails. Stock-outs during a sale hurt rank and waste advertising.
Six weeks out: listings and deals
Refresh titles, images and A+ content; check size charts and variants; and submit deals within each marketplace's deadlines. Ensure deal pricing is genuine and compliant with platform rules.
Four weeks out: creatives and audiences
Prepare festive creatives, build retargeting audiences from recent visitors and warm up campaigns to gather data before costs rise during peak days.
Two weeks out: operations
Confirm logistics capacity, packaging supplies and customer-service coverage. Prepare WhatsApp and email templates for order confirmations, delays and returns.
During and after the sale
Monitor stock, budgets and competitor prices daily and shift spend to products that convert. After the event, review returns and plan retention campaigns for new customers.
